What is naturopathy and how can it help you?
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health that incorporates many different modalities. It is based on the notion that nature provides us with the tools we need to maintain and regain health. The practice of naturopathy is steeped in centuries of tradition and is aligned with a more natural, traditional way of life, yet is also now being substantiated by the findings of modern research studies.
The central modalities of naturopathy are dietary advice, nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine and lifestyle optimisation (sleep, home and work environment, stress management, daily routine, etc). These foundations can then be built on with other therapies including hydrotherapy, homeopathy and flower essences. Collectively, these approaches nourish the body and guide it towards an optimal state of health in whatever ways are needed.
During your sessions, a naturopath will ask you a lot of questions about your history and your daily experience of physical and emotion health. This is because we recognise that each person is a unique individual, and thus will require an individualised approach. By learning about you as a whole and understanding how all the pieces of your jigsaw puzzle fit together, I can better identify the factors that might be contributing to your current state of health and which strategies would be of most benefit for you. By addressing these causative factors, rather than merely the symptoms you are experiencing, we can achieve positive results that last.

Many people are turning towards naturopathic care, as they are not feeling their best and are dealing with unpleasant symptoms, yet their doctor finds nothing concerning on their blood tests and tells them they are “fine”. Naturopaths take a deeper look into what could be happening, as they understand that symptoms are the way that your body sends us a message about some kind of dysfunction that is present. Together we go through the process of untangling the layers of what is going on in order to arrive at the origin of the issue. Though this can take time, once the true cause is identified and addressed, the improvements can then last over the long-term.
